In keeping with the scope of the enterprise, the three NGT business units provide unique applications, products and services designed to provide comprehensive ‘sole-source’ solutions in wireless broadband communications:
NGT Wireless Networks
NGT Wireless Networks designs, builds and operates wireless and “hybrid” broadband networks in underserved areas worldwide. These networks employ the “multi-tier” concept that is described in greater detail elsewhere in this document. Development of these multi-tier networks is accomplished, in concert with in-country joint venture partners, through the establishment of a Regional Operating Entity (ROE). The ROE joint venture strategy leverages the assets, licenses and goodwill of in-country partners in emerging markets in order to ‘jump-start’ the business. This strategy has proven to be the best method for a small company, with limited resources, to move into the international marketplace.
NGT Media Services
NGT Media Services acts as a ‘clearinghouse’ for the aggregation and distribution of converged-media content and applications. This is accomplished through the acquisition of applications and content-based businesses, and by establishing strategic and “teaming” relationships with “leading edge” applications and software providers. These applications and content-driven services become the “oil” in the wireless broadband content “pipeline”, and are capable of generating significant recurring revenue for both NGT wireless broadband systems and third-party broadband operators.
NGT Technical Services
NGT Technical Services provides engineering, hardware and technical support to other NGT business units, as well as third party clients. Revenue generated by third party systems integration, hardware sales and/or EF&I (engineer, furnish and install) contracts are used to partially (or in some cases fully) underwrite other development activities within the enterprise. In addition, equipment sales, systems integration, EF&I and communications restoration contracts provide an ongoing revenue stream making this technical support unit not only a ‘first-to-market’ business unit, but also a self-sufficient profit center. |
