LaSilkee Acquisition

Newport Global Technologies Acquires La Silkee Virtual Connections, Ltd. of Amman Jordan

October 20, 2008, Amman, Jordan: Newport Global Technologies, Inc. (“NGT”) www.ngtwireless.com announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire for cash and stock LaSilkee Virtual Connections, Ltd. (“LVC”), a Jordanian telecommunications company operating under a license granted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.  The specific terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In announcing this acquisition, Rounsevelle Schaum, Chairman of Newport Global, stated: “In these troubled economic times we are very pleased to have acquired LVC, a firm that is well established in the Middle East telecommunications market and has audited statements demonstrating positive operational cash flow.  This is a strategic acquisition for our company because it will become the satellite-fiberoptic gateway for our expansion in the Middle East and Africa.  Amman is the easternmost termination point for fiberoptic connectivity in Jordan.  At present there is no fiberoptic connectivity from Jordan to Iraq.  The LVC facilities will be expanded to include a satellite ground station which will permit us to bring to operational status our previously announced joint venture agreement with Kirkuk Telecom, Ltd. to provide broadband telecommunication services to Kirkuk, the cities of the Kurdistan Autonomous Region, and other Iraqi provinces.  The LVC facility will also provide satellite connectivity to our present facilities in Guinea and will be the gateway for our pending developments in other African countries.”

Paul Brandenburg, President of NGT, added:  “The mission of NGT is to bring the benefits of broadband telecommunications, including the “triple play” of internet connectivity, voice-over-IP (VoIP) and video based services, to newly emerging countries.  In addition to providing commercial wireless broadband services to metropolitan areas, NGT also extends broadband wireless services to rural schools, clinics and Wi-Fi “hotspots” though its educational telecommunications services subsidiary, ETS Global, Inc.”

Mr. Hassam Hakeem, Chairman of LVC stated:  “We are very pleased to become a part of NGT’s Middle East and Africa expansion program.  Newport Global’s acquisition of La Silkee is directly supportive of the stated objective of the Jordanian government for Amman to become the center for telecommunications in the Middle East.”

NGT, based in Newport, Rhode Island, is a private company organized by experienced telecom and financial professionals. Its mission is to develop and operate wireless networks bringing broadband technology, applications, and services to developing countries. It also provides internet connectivity, educational services, and programming to rural areas in the Middle East and Africa through its subsidiary, ETS Global, Inc.
